We know how hard it is to find all the cool shops in a city during the short time you’re there, so we’ve put together a list of all the sneaker and clothing stores in Amsterdam that are really worth checking out.
I don’t know how it is for other people, but vacations and city breaks always put us in the mood for shopping, and we’re sure other sneakerheads and streetwear lovers share this feeling.
Besides a complete list of museums and attractions in a given city, it never hurts to have a list of stores that are worth visiting as well. In recent years this question has been coming up more and more often on Sneaker Market Romania, so we’re kicking off a series of shopping recommendations for the biggest cities in Europe.
Amsterdam, one of the two capitals of the Kingdom of the Netherlands – popularly known as Holland – needs no introduction. Every year, millions of tourists visit the European city with the most museums per square kilometer for a dose of… culture. Whether you choose to visit the Rijksmuseum or just hit the coffeeshops, Amsterdam is always a great choice for sneaker culture. You’ll find our suggestions for shopping in the Netherlands below.
1. Patta

You can’t call yourself a true sneaker enthusiast without knowing about Patta Amsterdam. A Dutch brand, this shop boasts collaborations with Nike, New Balance, Clarks, Vans, Stussy and many others. Alongside a selection of hyped sneakers, you’ll always find their own in-house clothing collections.
2. Solebox

A sneaker store based in Berlin, Solebox has become known for its wide range of products as well as the unique design of its shops, each one drawing from a different source of inspiration. The Solebox store in Amsterdam is the most hyped chemistry lab you could ever see. From Nike to Bapesta, you won’t regret making the trip there.
3. Oqium

If Jordan sneakers are your favorites, this is the right place. Oquim is a basketball store that can satisfy any passionate player or anyone looking for lifestyle sneakers.
4. Baskets

The next store on our list checks off both sneakers and streetwear in Amsterdam. Stussy, Dr. Martens, Olaf, New Balance are just a few of the brands available. If you’re looking for contemporary fashion pieces, this is where you need to go.
5. Maha Amsterdam

You very rarely hear about stores that specialize in women’s sneakers. Well, Maha is one of those places. Big up to them for meeting the needs of a consumer category that is very often left out when we talk about sneaker shopping.
6. Sneaker District

Launched in 2010, this store went through a renovation in 2020 and we’re not going to give you too many details, but you’ll definitely like what you’ll see there. The only thing we’ll say is that it’s inspired by mesh sneakers. Nike, adidas, Asics, Karhu, White Mountaineering and the list goes on.
7. Chaptr One

A long-established resell shop in Amsterdam, they cover most of the sneaker grails you’d want to see and own. Travis Scott, Union LA x Jordan, AM1 x Atmos, Off-White and Supreme are just a teaser.
8. Ben-G

One of the best-known skate stores in Amsterdam. If you are doing a sneaker tour of the Netherlands, you cannot miss this spot. Parra, Stussy, Obey, Nike SB, HUF. Something for everyone.
9. Stussy Amsterdam

After you take a walk through the Red Light District, make a stop at Grey Area – not at Bulldog, since you’re not a tourist 😉 – and check out Patta, this should be next on your list if you’re looking for the latest Stussy collections and an incredibly welcoming staff.
10. Carhartt W.I.P.

Known for its top-quality workwear-inspired streetwear, the store is well worth a visit. What we like most in Carhartt stores is the wide range of accessories, including items like dog clothing.
11. Concrete

A store in The Hague – the Netherlands’ second capital – specialized in high-end fashion. Marni, Henrik Vibskov, Acne Studios and Y-3 are just a few of the many luxury clothing brands you can find here. If you want to learn more about Scandi Style and get shopping advice, don’t miss this store.
12. De Bijenkorf

Last but not least, this department store covers both sneakers and streetwear, high-end labels as well as classic sneaker brands, plus perfumes, cosmetics, home décor and electronics. Located right on Dam Square, the building is definitely worth a visit.
