In preparation for the last half of the Air Force 1‘s 40th, Nike has prepared a wide range of inline styles. And for the silhouette’s latest colorway — the recently surfaced “Coconut Milk” — the brand is bringing the ever-beloved Jewel Swoosh back into the fold.
Not unlike what rival brands have ventured, this Air Force 1 is ostensibly informed by vintage offerings. Age is simulated well by the use of “Coconut Milk,” which is applied to near every part of the leather upper. The degree to which the adjacent fixtures yellow varies quite a bit: the laces and midsole opt for the much darker “Lemon Wash,” while the lining and embroidered branding prefer the more desaturated “Light Bone.” And the above-mentioned check itself is similarly disparate as it leans almost completely achromatic.
