The Air Jordan 2 basketball shoes were released in November 1986. At that time, Michael Jordan was 23 years old. Mike wore the Air Jordan 2 throughout the 1986 – 1987 season, even making the All-Star team. The first color schemes of a basketball shoe are known as “OG Colorways” (Original Colorways).
For the launch of the second model, Nike produced two different color schemes. Both colorways are based on white and red, the Chicago Bulls colors. The model is the first Air Jordan shoe without a lateral Nike Swoosh logo. All Air Jordan 2 Original Colorways from 1986 – 1987 were manufactured in Italy, using a range of premium materials.
