The Air Jordan 4 basketball shoes debuted in February 1989. One month later, Michael Jordan appeared on the cover of GQ magazine, cementing his celebrity status. Mike wore the Air Jordan 4 Original Colorways frequently during his career, as well as after it ended. The only pair the athlete never wore on court was “Military Blue”, because it did not comply with NBA uniform rules. The most famous moment when Jordan wore an AJ4 is undoubtedly “The Shot”, defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers in the final seconds of the game by just one point. The first color schemes of a basketball shoe are known as “OG Colorways” (Original Colorways).
For the launch of the fourth model, Nike produced four different color schemes. Three of them are based on white (“White Cement”, “Fire Red” and “Military Blue”) while the fourth is based on black (“Black Cement”, later known as “Bred”).
