Mita Sneakers is collaborating once again with Asics during Fall 2024, launching a new Gel-Lyte 3 "Trico 2024" together and continuing the "Trico" series.
The new limited edition Asics invites Mita Sneakers creative director Hideyuki Kunii to step in as designer. The Mita x Asics Gel-Lyte 3 "Trico 2024" celebrates the 30th anniversary of the Gel-Lyte III. It follows the specifications of the 2020 "Trico" model during 2024, but is rebuilt with a color scheme inspired by the Paris Olympic Games. The split tongue, a signature of the Gel-Lyte III silhouette, is equipped with a zipper, allowing the shoe to function as a slip-on. The sole features the text "Far East", representing Japan as seen from the rest of the world, and a woven "Tokyo Kai" label is placed on the tongue. The shoe is predominantly white, with a blue toe box and a red detail on the heel area. The heel text comes in gold, while the lateral netting is finished in black. The official release date for the Japanese market is July 27, 2024.
